Care and Wellbeing
Your child is safe, known and cared for
Homestay with vetted families
Students live with carefully selected families approved by PBS. [describe vetting steps and Khmer-speaking host options, if any]
International Student Coordinator
One dedicated person is the first contact for your child and for you. [name, photo, languages]
Small classes
Teachers know every student personally.
Regular updates
Emails, photos and academic reports so you can follow your child's progress. Through the Family Portal you will receive [monthly] summaries, with key points in Khmer.
24/7 emergency contact
[confirm arrangement]
Parents as partners
PBS sees parents as a child's first teacher and the school as the second. Parents of international students join the same partnership from abroad through the Family Portal, the Hiri and Ottappa parent course, and regular contact with the coordinator.
A spiritual home every week
Dhamma Training Ground, at the same Canley Vale address, offers free Sunday Dhamma talks, Uposatha observance days, and a children's Dhamma program for ages 5 to 12. Your child can keep the practices of home: offering, precepts and meditation. [confirm how international and homestay students take part, including supervision and transport]
Wise use of technology
Students learn self-discipline with devices, not just rules. Homestay families are asked to support the same limits on screens and gaming.
A community that feels like home
A Buddhist school in Western Sydney, close to Khmer temples, shops and community. [confirm nearby Khmer community details]
Welfare and the visa
Every student under 18 must have approved care arrangements before travelling. This can be a parent or relative on a guardian visa, or homestay approved by PBS. Our team explains each option during your consultation.
